April 22--A West Side alderman was punched by a man as he arrived at a ward meeting Thursday night, according to police.
Ald. Walter Burnett, 27th, told police he was attacked around 7 p.m. near Madison Street and Western Avenue as he arrived to host "Ward Night," police said.
He did not require treatment and a person was taken into custody, police said. Charges were pending.
