April 09--Police are warning residents in the Austin community on the West Side of several strong-armed robberies that took place in the area over the past two and a half weeks.
Three incidents occurred between March 24 and April 3, according to a news release from the Chicago Police Department.
In each robbery, two to three male attackers approached a victim and threatened to use force or actually used force to take the victim's property, the release said.
The latest incident happened in the 5600 block of West West End Avenue about 10:30 p.m. April 3. Another incident took place in the 800 block of North Waller Avenue about 3:40 p.m. March 25, and a third robbery occurred in the 5600 block of West Corcoran Place about 7:05 p.m. on March 24, according to the release.
Suspects are described as two to three black males who are between about 15 and 22 years old and between 5-foot-8 and 6-foot-1 in height, according to the release.
