BRIEF: Police warn of robberies on Northwest Side

April 24--Police are warning Northwest Side residents after three robberies in the Portage Park neighborhood in the last month.

In each robbery, one or more people have approached someone and forcibly taken items, according to a police statement.

The robberies happened:

About 11:50 p.m. March 31 in the 5300 block of West Patterson Avenue

*

About 12:15 a.m. April 10 in the 5100 block of West Grace Street

*

About 6:20 a.m. April 19 in the 3900 block of North Long Avenue

At least one robber is described as a black man, about 25 years-old, about 6 feet tall and between 180 and 200 pounds, wearing a blue sweatshirt and black pants.
