BRIEF: Police warn of robberies in Wrigleyville

Nov. 17--Police are warning Lakeview residents after at least two robberies in the North Side neighborhood over the weekend.

In both robberies, a group of four men "used force and the threat of force" to take cellphones and wallets from people, according to a statement from Chicago police. Before each robbery, the group approached people and asked if they wanted to buy narcotics before robbing them, police said.

The robberies happened within an hour early Saturday, one about 2 a.m. Saturday in the 3300 block of North Clark Street and the other about 2:45 a.m. in the 3500 block of North Wilton Avenue, police said.

Anyone with information can contact Area North detectives at (312) 744-8263.
