BRIEF: Police warn of robberies in Irving Park

Nov. 30--Police are warning Northwest Side residents after two separate robberies in Irving Park earlier this month.

In both robberies, a man and a woman approached someone and started a conversation. The man then implied he had a weapon and took the person's property, according to a police statement.

The first robbery happened about 11:20 p.m. on November 20 in the 4000 block of North Central Park Avenue, and the second robbery happened about two hours later at 1:30 a.m. in the 4000 block of North Keyston Avenue, police said.

The man was described as black, age 25 to 35 years-old, 5-foot-10 to six feet tall and about 170 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. The woman was described as the same age, with long black hair and brown eyes. In one robbery, the woman was pushing a stroller, police said.

Anyone with information can contact Area North detectives at (312) 744-8263.
