BRIEF: Police warn of robberies in Hyde Park

Sept. 22--Police are warning residents in the Hyde Park and East Hyde Park neighborhoods on the South Side of a string of robberies that occurred in the area over the past week.

Three robberies happened between last Wednesday and Saturday, according to a news release from the Chicago Police Department.

The latest robbery took place around 7 p.m. on Saturday in the 1300 block of East 52nd Street. Another robbery happened around 10 p.m. Friday in the 5400 block of South Dorchester Avenue, and a third incident occurred around 11 p.m. Wednesday in the 5200 block of South Hyde Park Boulevard, according to the release.

In all three robberies, attackers approached victims on the street, displayed a handgun and took their property.

Suspects are two to three black males who are between 16 and 20 years old. They are between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10 and weigh between 150 and 170 pounds, according to the release.
