BRIEF: Police warn of North Side burglaries

July 01--Police are warning North Side residents after a string of burglaries last month in Irving Park.

In each incident, burglars broke into a residence through an unlocked window or door and took televisions, clothes, jewelry, cash, laptops and small electronics, according to a police alert.

Police believe four burglaries reported over the last month in Irving Park are related:

--Between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. June 28 in the 4100 block of West School Street.

--Between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. June 25 in the 4100 block of West Cornelia Avenue.

--Between 7:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. June 12 in the 4000 block of West School Street.

--Between 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. June 10 in the 3400 block of North Milwaukee Avenue.

Police are advising residents to keep doors and windows secured and check their alarm systems are working. Anyone with information is asked to contact Area North Detectives at 312-744-8263.
