BRIEF: Police warn of man snatching necklaces from women on CTA trains

Aug. 13--Police say a man has been snatching necklaces from women as their CTA trains pull into stations.

The robberies have occurred over the last two weeks at the UIC Halsted Blue Line, Cermak Red Line and Division Blue Line stops.

In each incident, a man grabbed a woman's necklace as the train pulled into the station and then ran through the opening doors.

Police described the suspect as black, 20 to 30 years old, 5-foot-3 to 5-foot-6, weighing about 150 pounds and bald with a dark complexion.

The UIC Halsted robbery happened about 3:30 p.m. on July 27, police said. The Cermak robbery was reported about 7:05 a.m. on Aug. 3. The Division robbery happened about 6:50 a.m. Wednesday.
