BRIEF: Police warn Humboldt Park businesses of burglaries

March 09--Police are alerting business owners in the Humboldt Park neighborhood of a recent rise in burglaries, police said.

Several male attackers burglarized multiple businesses at a strip mall in the 800 block of North Kedzie Avenue around 6 a.m. Sunday, according to a statement from the Chicago Police Department.

The suspects are black males who came out of vans and used garbage containers to conceal and steal property, according to the statement. The exact number of suspects was not known.

Police urge community members to secure door access to their businesses with commercial locks and activate alarm and video recording devices overnight.

Anyone with information about the burglaries should contact Area North detectives at 312-744-8263.
