BRIEF: Loyola University student reported missing is found safe

Nov. 19--A Loyola University Chicago student who had been missing for more than a week has been found safe, campus police said Tuesday.

Chan Williams, 20, entered the Chicago Board of Trade building at 141 W. Jackson Blvd. around 8 p.m. Nov. and had not been seen since, according to a statement from Loyola University's Department of Safety issued Nov. 12. In a community bulletin Tuesday, police said that Williams "has been found and he is doing well."

Williams had not attended classes since his disappearance or responded to emails and phone calls, the statement said. His disappearance was reported by his father.

Williams is described as African-American, 6 feet tall, weighing around 210 pounds with short black hair, brown eyes and a light complexion, according to Police News Affairs.

He was last seen wearing a black fleece jacket, a black athletic shirt, dark gray athletic pants or shorts, black socks and grey Puma shoes, the statement said.

Williams is known to frequent the area near Northwestern Memorial Hospital and the Loyola University campus downtown.
