BRIEF: Police seek 2 in Loop pipe wrench robbery

July 18--Police have released surveillance photos of a man and a woman who beat a 7-Eleven worker with a pipe wrench during a May robbery.

The convenience store was robbed at 9:30 pm. May 26 in the 100 block of North Michigan Avenue, police said.

When a 7-Eleven worker confronted the woman leaving the store with stolen merchandise, the man hit the worker "numerous times with a pipe wrench,'' according to a community alert released by Area Central detectives.

The 5-foot-3 woman was wearing a white hat, and the 5-foot-10 man was wearing a black shirt and was carrying a backpack, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 312-747-8380.
