BRIEF: Police suspend search at CSUN after report of shots fired

March 06--Los Angeles police searched Cal State Northridge after shots were fired and two men were seen running into a dorm, police said.

Police received a report of shots fired about 1:10 p.m. at Kinzie Street and Lindley Avenue in front of the University Park Apartments near CSUN, Los Angeles police Officer Jane Kim said. Students live at the University Park Apartments.

Moments later, two men were seen running, then jumping a fence and entering a CSUN dorm, Kim said. It is unclear whether they were suspects or victims, Kim said.

University spokeswoman Carmen Chandler said witnesses heard gunfire and saw a car speeding away from the area.

She said the shooting did not occur on campus.

No arrests were made and police suspended their search. Police say they found a bullet hole in a dorm room door. No one was injured.
