BRIEF: Police search for two males in Humboldt Park fatal hit-and-run

Dec. 11--Police are searching for two people who fled the scene of a fatal car crash in the city's Humboldt Park neighborhood Sunday morning.

A woman was killed in the hit-and-run crash, which happeneing about 7:50 a.m. Sunday in the 2700 block of West Division Street, police said.

Bessie English, 63, was driving a 1993 Ford Escort eastbound on West Division Street when she was hit head-on by a 2010 Honda CRV traveling westbound, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

English, of the 900 block of North Waller Avenue, was pronounced dead at 9:22 a.m. at Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center, according to the medical examiner's office. English suffered a possible heart attack during the crash, police said.

Two males fled from the crash on foot, police said. As of Wednesday night, no one had been arrested. Police said the two were riding in a tan 2010 Honda CRV with Wisconsin license plates.
