BRIEF: Police search for Libertyville bank robber

Dec. 08--Libertyville police are seeking a woman suspected in connection with the robbery of a Harris Bank on North Milwaukee Avenue Monday morning.

According to police, the woman entered the bank about 11:18 a.m., handed a teller a note demanding money and showed a gun. No one was injured and the woman left with an undetermined amount of cash, authorities said.

The woman was described as being in her 30s with dark skin, authorities said. She wore a gray jacket with a gray hood, dark pants, black-and-white tennis shoes and a multicolored scarf, according to police. She carried a small silver handgun, authorities said.

After the robbery, Libertyville detectives searched businesses and the downtown area, asking if anyone saw the suspect, according to police.

Police are working with the FBI on the investigation, police said.

Anyone with information on the robbery has been asked to call Libertyville police at (847) 362-8310 or the FBI at (312) 421-6700.
