BRIEF: Police release photo of car in hit-and-run that injured bicyclist

June 02--Police have released a photo of a car they believe struck and seriously injured a bicyclist in a hit-and-run last month in the Avondale neighborhood.

The driver of the dark-colored sedan struck hit the bicyclist near Western, Diversey and Elston avenues around 3:15 a.m. May 9, according to a police alert.

The driver did not cause the crash but did not remain on scene, police said. Instead, the driver fled north on Western from Diversey.

Police said the bicyclist had "very serious personal injuries."

Anyone with information can contact the police department's Major Accident Investigation unit at 312-745-4521.
