BRIEF: One in custody as Albany Park barricade situation ends

June 30--A barricade situation early Tuesday morning on the North Side has been resolved, with one male taken into custody, police said.

Officers responded about 3:20 a.m. to the 4400 block of North Drake Avenue in the Albany Park neighborhood and called for an HBT (hostage-barricade-terrorism) response after a person barricaded himself inside an apartment, police said, citing preliminary information.

There were no reports of injuries.

The person taken into custody when the incident ended about 7 a.m. was male, according to Officer Janel Sedevic, a spokeswoman for the Chicago Police Department, but his age was not immediately available. No information was available as to whether a weapon was found, and no other details of the incident were immediately available either.

Police were diverting traffic on Montrose Avenue between Central Park and Kimball avenues. The 78 Montrose bus was also being rerouted, according to a CTA alert.
