BRIEF: Police release sketch of wanted man in attempted kidnapping

May 06--Police released a sketch of a man who tried to abduct a 14-year-old girl in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side Tuesday morning.

The girl was walking in the 200 block of West 108th Street when around 8:28 a.m. she noticed a silver four-door car following her, according to a news release from the Chicago Police Department.

A man jumped out of the car, which was possibly a 2008 to 2012 Chevrolet Malibu. He then grabbed the girl, but she was able to break away and run from him, according to the release.

The suspect is a black man in his 30s. He is about 5-foot-10 with a thin build. He had his hair pulled back into a ponytail and had a gap between his front teeth. He was wearing a blue coat with writing on the front, according to the release.

Anyone with information about the suspect should call Area South detectives at 312-747-8271.
