BRIEF: Police release sketch of man wanted for questioning in double slaying

Aug. 14--Police have released a sketch of a man wanted for questioning in the fatal shooting of a man and a woman in the Roseland neighborhood last week.

The shooting happened about 6:50 p.m. on Aug. 6 in the 500 block of West 109th Street. Police had responded to a call of shots fired and found the two lying at the mouth of an alley.

William L. Drake, 20, of the 10100 block of South Lowe Avenue, was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Briona O. White, 22, of the 10100 block of South Carpenter Street, suffered several gunshot wounds. She was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where she was pronounced dead at 7:43 p.m., said officials.

The man in the composite sketch was seen running west on 109th Street with another person after the shooting. The two jumped into a small yellow compact car that was parked in the 10900 block of South Parnell Avenue. The car fled south at a high rate of speed on Parnell, police said.
