March 02--Police have released surveillance photos of a suspect in his teens wanted in the shooting of a 16-year-old boy last month in the West Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side.
The photos show the suspect, dressed in a black hoodie and red winter coat, fleeing the scene in the 6200 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue around 1:15 p.m. on Feb. 16, according to a police alert.
Police said the suspect approached the boy and shot him in the back as he fled. He was taken in serious condition to the University of Chicago Hospital.
The suspect is described as black, 16-18 years old, 6-foot to 6-foot-2 and 150 to 160 pounds.
