BRIEF: Police release photos of armed robber on Pink Line

April 20--Chicago police are asking for the public's help finding a teen or young man who robbed a woman at gunpoint on a Pink Line platform in the Lawndale neighborhood earlier this month.

Police have released surveillance photos of the robber, who approached the woman about 8:45 p.m. April 3 at the Kedzie station, 1944 S. Kedzie Ave. Police say he showed a handgun and took her cellphone.

The robber is described as black, 17 to 20, about 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 and weighing 140 to 160 pounds. The surveillance photographs show him wearing a blue-and-red striped hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and light gym shoes, and carrying a multicolored backpack or bag.

Anyone with information should call Area Central detectives at 312-747-8382.
