June 12--A Chicago police officer was injured when his squad car collided with another vehicle on Lake Shore Drive on Thursday evening in the Loop, authorities said.
The accident happened around 10:25 p.m. near South Lake Shore Drive and Monroe Street, said Officer Ron Gaines, a Chicago police spokesman.
The officer was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and was treated and released, Gaines said.
Occupants of the other car refused medical treatment, according to a fire department official.
No other information was available about the accident.
