Sept. 16--A man tried to lure a girl into his van Tuesday afternoon in the West Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side, police said.
About 3:36 p.m., a man, described to be between 32 and 35 years old, pulled up his white van next to a girl in the 5900 block of South Karlov Avenue, according to a release from the Chicago Police Department.
The man motioned with his hands for the girl to come over to his van. But he drove away shortly after the girl's parent arrived to pick her up from school, the release said.
The suspect is a white Hispanic man. He has black hair and a light brown complexion, according to the release.
The man was driving a white van with an Illinois license plate of 1638716-B.
