BRIEF: Police: Man tried to lure girl, 15, in West Lawn

Dec. 15--Police are seeking a man who tried to lure a 15-year-old girl into his truck Sunday in the West Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The girl was walking south in the 6500 block of South Pulaski Road around 12:15 p.m. when the man walked up to her and asked her in Spanish if she needed a ride, according to an alert from the Chicago Police Department.

The girl went inside a store and asked a clerk to call the police. The man followed the girl into the store and continued to try to talk to her, the alert said.

The man left and was last seen driving west in the area of the 6600 block of South Pulaski in a royal blue pickup truck, according to the alert.

The suspect was described as Hispanic, age 25 to 35, with short black hair and thick eyebrows. He was cleanshaven and was wearing a black leather jacket, black jeans, tan work boots and a maroon baseball cap with a white eagle on it, according to the alert.

Anyone with information can call Area Central detectives at 312-747-8380.
