Feb. 21--One man was killed, and at least two others were wounded in separate shootings across the city's South and West sides since Friday evening.

About 5:45 p.m. Friday, a man was shot dead near his home in the city's Englewood neighborhood, police said.

Officers responded to a call of shots fired and found the 25-year-old man on the ground in the 5600 block of South Green Street, said Officer Thomas Sweeney, a Chicago Police Department spokesman.

Police said the 25-year-old was found lying on a parkway near the block, police said.

The man was later identified as Malcolm Tompkins, of the 5600 block of South Peoria Street, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. He was pronounced dead at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital at 6:41 p.m., according to the medical examiner's office.

About 8:45 p.m. Friday, a 17-year-old boy was shot repeatedly in Austin.

The teen was standing in the hallway of an apartment complex in the 4800 block of West Adams Street when a gunman opened fire on him, police said.

The 17-year-old was shot in both his arms and his lower left leg. The teen was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where his condition stabilized.

Earlier, a 24-year-old man was shot in the Calumet Heights neighborhood on the South Side.

The man was standing at a bus stop in the 9300 block of South Colfax Avenue about 6:50 p.m. when he was shot in his leg, police said.

The man was taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital where he was listed in good condition.
