BRIEF: Police: Man robs CTA train riders on North Side

April 29--Police are warning of robberies this month on CTA trains in the Lincoln Park neighborhood on the North Side.

Two robberies happened during early morning hours on April 12 and April 21, according to a news release from the Chicago Police Department.

In each incident, an unknown man approached lone victims on a CTA train and forcibly removed their personal property, the release said.

The latest incident happened on a CTA train in the 1600 block of North Clybourn Avenue, and the April 12 robbery occurred in the 900 block of West Fullerton Avenue, police said.

The suspect, who was seen by surveillance cameras, is a black man 30 to 40 years old. He is 6-foot-2 and is 190 to 200 pounds. He was wearing a light colored sweatshirt and dark jeans.

Anyone with information about the suspect or the incidents should call Area Central detectives at 312-747-8382.
