BRIEF: Police: Man, 88, with dementia missing

Jan. 05--Police are asking for help in finding an 88-year-old missing man with dementia.

Edward Pisz was last seen at 5:10 p.m. Monday inside Swedish Covenant Hospital, at 5145 N. California Ave., according to an alert from the Chicago Police Department.

Pisz was being transported to a nursing home when he walked away from the fifth floor of the hospital, the alert said.

Pisz, whose has a previous address in west suburban Westchester, still hasn't arrived at the designated nursing home on the 900 block of South Austin Avenue in the Island neighborhood, according to the alert.

Pisz, who has dementia, is 5-foot-5 and weighs 157 pounds, according to the alert. He has balding hair, green eyes and a medium complexion, the alert said.

He was last seen wearing a knit hat and a brown jacket.
