BRIEF: Police: Knife-wielding man tried to rob Rogers Park eatery

April 27--A South Side man has been charged with armed robbery after trying to hold up a restaurant in the Rogers Park neighborhood Sunday, police said.

Fredrick Warren, 43, of the 2300 block of East 75th Street in the city's South Shore neighborhood, is charged with armed robbery, police said. He was also wanted on a warrant.

Warren was identified as the person who, armed with a knife, entered a restaurant in the 6400 block of North Sheridan Road about 4:50 p.m. Sunday and demanded money, police said.

No one was hurt, police said. Warren is slated to appear in bond court Monday afternoon on the charges.
