July 27--Authorities were investigating what was believed to be the accidental shooting death of a woman Sunday morning at a Hillside hotel.
The woman, 51, of Cincinnati, Ohio, was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:15 a.m. at a Best Western, 4500 N. Frontage Road in the west suburb, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Police were called to the hotel at 10:54 a.m. for a call requesting police assistance, Hillside police Chief Joseph Lukaszek said. When officers arrived, they found a woman who had suffered one gunshot wound.
The shooting appears to be accidental, but Hillside police were working with the West Suburban Major Crimes Task Force to investigate the death, Lukaszek said.
