Aug. 25--Chicago police are investigating after construction crews unearthed bones in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side, authorities said.
It was not known if the bones are human, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a spokesman for the Chicago police department.
The crews were working on private property in the 1900 block of 51st Street when they made the discovery around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Estrada said.
Detectives were sent to the scene to investigate, he said.
