Dec. 09--An 8-year-old girl has been found safe a day after she was reported missing by her family in the Austin neighborhood, according to police.
"There was a misunderstanding with her family and the girl is safe," police said in a statement Tuesday morning.
The girl's family had told police they last saw her around 7:30 a.m. Monday at Leland Elementary School, 512 S. Lavergne Ave. on the West Side, according to a police alert.
