BRIEF: Police: 'Escorts' robbed, assaulted on city's Northwest Side

Oct. 28--Police warned the public Tuesday about two armed men who have lured women working as "escorts" to abandoned properties on the city's Northwest Side to rob and sexually assault them.

In a community alert issued Tuesday, police said the escorts were called and asked to meet at several locations that were abandoned houses or apartments. The women were met by the armed men who then robbed and/or sexually assaulted them, said police.

The incidents began Oct. 9, when an attack happened in the 3200 block of North Oketo Avenue about 1:15 a.m., according to police crime data. Another attack happened just after midnight on Oct. 17 in the 3700 block of West Shakespeare Avenue.

Information on two more incidents was not immediately available.

The men are described as between the ages of 18 to 20, with black hair and brown eyes. One of the attackers has a heavy build, weighing between 190 to 250 pounds, and is between 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall. The other attacker has a medium build, weighing about 150 to 180 pounds, and is about 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall, police said.

Anyone with information about the attacks should contact the Area North Bureau of Detectives at 312-744-8200.
