BRIEF: Police: Drunk Midlothian man struck Chicago Ridge residence

March 23--A 27-year-old man was ordered placed on electronic monitoring Sunday in Cook County bond court after prosecutors said he drunkenly drove into a Chicago Ridge residence Saturday.

Ryan D. Arvanites was charged with aggravated DUI and driving with a revoked license in the incident, which took place around 3 a.m. Saturday in the 10600 block of South Austin Avenue, according to a Chicago Ridge police statement.

Police arrived and found that a 2012 Ford Fusion had struck a residence, the statement said.

Neither Arvanites, the three passengers nor the residence's occupants were harmed, police said.

But there was "significant damage" to the residence, police said.

Court records state that Arvanites was driving at a high speed before the vehicle struck the residence.

Arvanites had bloodshot eyes and slurred, "thick tongued" speech, according to court records.

He declined tests on blood, breath or urine, according to records.

Chicago Ridge police list Arvanites' home address in Posen, while county records listed the man as living in Midlothian.
