April 26--A dog tried to attack Chicago police officers Sunday morning on the Far South Side, prompting police to fatally shoot the animal, police said.
The officers were responding to a crime in the 9500 block of South Ewing Avenue at 10:11 a.m. when the dog "came at them" and tried to attack, police said.
Police had to fire shots and kill the dog, according to police, who said no officers were bitten or injured.
