Nov. 22--A Berwyn man was arrested after authorities found as many as 600 pictures and videos of child pornography at his home, authorities said Friday morning.
Peter Colagrossi, 42, was charged with possession of child pornography and reproduction of child pornography, according to the Cook County state's attorney's office.
Berwyn police suspected Colagrossi had been sharing the illegal images online, the office said. Undercover investigators approached Colagrossi online and got him to share the images, authorities said.
Berwyn police -- with the assistance of Chicago and Elmwood Park investigators -- then executed a search warrant Thursday at Colagrossi's home, authorities said.
They found 500 or 600 pictures and videos of child pornography on Colagrossi's laptop computer and flash drives, authorities said. The 42-year-old was arrested and felony charges approved at 12:20 a.m. Friday.
Colagrossi was ordered held on $250,000 bail during a hearing Friday in Maywood.
