BRIEF: Police: Attempted sexual assault reported in Lincoln Park

Oct. 13--Police are looking for the man who tried to sexually assault a woman after hitting her with an object while she was working out in Lincoln Park on Monday night.

The 43-year-old woman was exercising along a walking path in the 1700 block of North Stockton Drive when a man struck her with an "unknown object" and tried to sexually assault her about 7:55 p.m., according to a statement from Chicago police.

She was able to get away and tell police what happened, and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

The attacker was described as a "very skinny" man between the ages of 20 and 50, standing 6-foot-1 to 6-foot-6, the statement said. He was wearing a dark, hooded sweatshirt, had a "foul personal body odor'' and spoke in a coarse manner, the statement said.

No further information about his appearance was given.

Anyone with information should contact Area Central detectives at 312-747-8380.
