BRIEF: Police arrest 3 teens in Arlington Heights burglaries

Dec. 22--Three teenagers were arrested Friday in connection with a string of home break-ins in Arlington Heights.

Marlvin Hill, 18, has been charged with two counts of residential burglary, Arlington Heights Police Commander Nathan Hayes said in a release. Two juveniles, both 16 years old, also have been charged with residential burglary, Hayes said.

The burglaries all took place in the area of Lake Cook Road and Wilke Road in the northwest suburb over the past two months, Hayes said. The suspects are accused of entering homes through unlocked sliding glass doors of apartments and single-family homes to steal electronics and jewelry, according to Hayes.

The teens are suspected in at least nine home burglaries and four attempted home burglaries, Hayes said. The investigation is ongoing.

Police recovered most of the stolen items and are returning them to their owners.

Bond for Hill was set at $30,000. Hill, of the 4000 block of Bonhill Drive, is scheduled to return to court Jan. 13.
