BRIEF: Police alert warns of man who groped girl, 13, in Albany Park

Jan. 07--Police are warning Northwest Side residents after they say a man groped a teenage girl in Albany Park.

About 8:45 p.m. Monday, a 13-year-old girl was walking home from a friend's house in the 3700 block of West Ainslie Street when a man approached her from behind, according to a police alert.

The man spoke to her in Spanish before grabbing her buttocks. The girl screamed and ran away, police said.

Police described the man as Hispanic, about 5-foot-5 and about 150 pounds. He had a medium complexion and was wearing a black and red knit cap, a black canvas work-style jacket and shiny athletic pants, police said.

Anyone with information can contact Area North detectives at (312) 744-8200.
