March 25--Chicago police have issued an alert after three stores were burglarized over the past two weeks on the North Side.
The burglaries occurred in the Lakeview, North Center and Buena Park neighborhoods between March 11 and Tuesday, according to the Chicago Police Department.
In two of the incidents, someone shattered the front glass door or windows of the business. In the third burglary, the burglar broke through the wall.
The latest incident occurred in the 800 block of West Sheridan Road between 10 p.m. Monday and 6 a.m. Tuesday, the statement said.
A second burglary happened between 9:30 p.m. Friday and 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the 4100 block of North Lincoln Avenue. The third incident took place between 10 p.m. March 11 and 6 a.m. March 12.
Police encouraged owners to make sure their businesses are equipped with a working video surveillance system and alarm.
