BRIEF: Police: 11-year-old almost kidnapped in Little Village

Nov. 04--An 11-year-old girl was almost kidnapped in the Little Village neighborhood Monday morning, according to Chicago police.

A man approached her from behind and placed his hand over her mouth and nose about 8:15 a.m., according to a community alert issued Monday afternoon.

The attack happened in the 3700 block of West 27th Street, police said.

The girl broke free and was able to escape, according to police.

The man is described as Hispanic, between 20 and 30 years old, 170-180 pounds, with black hair and possibly acne on his face.

He was wearing a black baseball cap, dark colored zip-up sweater, brown cargo pants with side pockets. He's between 5 feet 10 and 6 feet tall, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information about the attack to call detectives at 312-747-8380.
