BRIEF: Playwright Terrence McNally in conversation with BJ Jones this weekend

Nov. 10--Playwright Terrence McNally is coming to Chicago this weekend for a series of public events.

McNally will be joined by Northlight Theatre artistic director BJ Jones to discuss his new play anthology accompanied by essays, "Selected Works: A Memoir in Plays." The event will take place at Bookends and Beginnings, located at 1712 W. Sherman Ave. in Evanston, on Nov. 14 at 11 a.m. It is free and open to the public, but early arrival is recommended.

McNally will also be present at the post-show discussions for Eclipse Theatre's production of his play "The Lisbon Traviata" on Nov. 13 at the Athenaeum Theatre, 2936 N. Southport Ave. Eclipse artistic director Nathaniel Swift will moderate.

McNally, a prolific American playwright, most recently penned the Tony-nominated "Mothers and Sons" on Broadway March 2014, to be produced by Northlight Theatre this winter.
