Dec. 06--Michigan State is headed to the Lone Star state. Again.
Last year the Spartans played -- and narrowly beat -- Baylor in the Cotton Bowl. They will return this time and play for greater stakes -- a spot in the national championship game.
As expected Michigan State moved up to No. 3 in the College Football Playoff rankings, jumping Oklahoma. The Sooners didn't play Saturday, while the Spartans took down Iowa in a thrilling Big Ten title game.
Top-seeded Clemson will take on No. 4 Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl. Both games are Dec. 31.
The Spartans will certainly be underdogs against Alabama, which throttled Florida in the SEC title game. And that should play into the hands of a program that thrives on playing the no-respect card.
