BRIEF: Play it again: Flaws repeats as Big 10 forward of year

Nov. 06--Illinois forward Jannelle Flaws is a unanimous choice as 2014 Big Ten soccer forward of the year.

Flaws, from Glenbrook South, who also won the award last year, was tied for fifth in Division I in goals (17) heading into the Illini's 2-0 loss to No. 11 Wisconsin in Wednesday's Big Ten tournament opener.

A year ago, she led Division I in goals with an Illinois single-season record 23.

Because she missed the entire 2010 and 2012 seasons after knee surgeries, the fifth-year senior can apply for another year of eligibility. She needs eight goals to become the Illini's all-time leader.
