BRIEF: Plane returns to O'Hare after running into turbulence

Nov. 19--An American Airlines flight from O'Hare International Airport to England turned back after hitting turbulence and landed in Chicago less than an hour after takeoff Wednesday night, airline officials said.

Flight 54 to Manchester took off just after 7 p.m. and was back on the ground in Chicago at about 8 p.m., said American Airlines spokesman Josh Freed.

Two female flight attendants, 51 and 47, suffered minor injuries because of the turbulence, according to Chicago Fire Department spokesman Chief Juan Hernandez.

Hernandez said paramedics arrived at Terminal 3 and took the two women to Presence Resurrection Medical Center.

No passengers were injured, Freed said.
