April 14--The full schedule for the 3rd annual Pivot Arts Festival was announced on Tuesday. The 10-day festival of performances and other events takes place in the Uptown and Edgewater neighborhoods of Chicago in late spring. This year's theme is "Celebrate Community."
Some highlights include: the return of Dean Evans' canary yellow bouffon Honeybuns (June 4-6 at Uptown Underground, 4707 N. Broadway), the queer performance group BAATHHAUS (June 6 at Uptown Underground) and the About Face Theatre youth ensemble's performance of "Checking Boxes" (May 29).
Grammy-nominated indie rocker Justin Roberts will also perform in St. Ignatius Plaza (Kenmore between Rosemont Ave. and Sheridan Rd.), as part of the Celebrate Community Parade on May 30.
The 3rd Annual Pivot Arts Festival takes place May 28-June 7.
