May 05--Two days after the Cubs knocked Gerrit Cole around at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, the Pirates ace let out his frustrations during Game 4 of the Penguins-Capitals playoff game.
Wednesday night at Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, hours after the Cubs beat the Pirates again in a day game, Cole, wearing a Sidney Crosby jersey and chugging a beer, was sitting near the glass.
Videos show him heckling and booing the Capitals. At one point, he smacks the glass, which is probably very fun to do but is not considered acceptable fan behavior.
Later, he is shown talking through the glass to an usher, who apparently is telling him to cool it and to stop acting like a pirate and more like a grown man. Cole, 25, turns to the usher and gives him a right thumbs up.
But Cole can take solace in the fact that the Penguins went on to win that game and now have a commanding 3-1 lead in the series.
As for Cole's performance Monday, he lasted a mere 4 2/3 innings, giving up 5 earned runs. The Cubs won that game 7-2. The Cubs swept the Pirates series and now have a six-game lead over the second-place Bucs.
