Feb. 17--A pilot is being evaluated after his small plane slid off the runway at Midway Airport, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
The plane slid off the runway Monday afternoon, the Fire Department said.
The pilot was described as "just shook up'' and was being evaluated by paramedics, the Fire Department said. The pilot was the only person on the plane, fire officials said.
The small airplane was a General Aviation aircraft and was not a commercial passenger plane, said Karen Pride, a spokeswoman for the Chicago Department of Aviation.
The incident was reported at 2:45 p.m. when the plane experienced "issues" upon landing, Pride said.
The FAA is investigating the incident, she said.
The aircraft involved was a twin-engine plane, according to a witness.
