Phoenix police identify five family members found shot to death

April 18--A gunman in a north Phoenix home shot and killed his two brothers, his mother and sister-in-law before turning the gun on himself following a business dispute, police said Friday.

The victims have been identified as brothers Reda Diaeddine, 38, and Dodi Fayed, 56; their mother, Kenza Benzakour, 76; and sister-in-law Meriem Ben Yahia, 26; police spokesman Sgt. Trent Crump said in a news release.

The suspected gunman is Driss Diaeddine, 50, Crump said.

The brothers were in an ongoing business dispute, police said.

The shootings occurred about 2 p.m. Thursday. The suspected gunman's wife called police about the shootings after she left the home safely with her two children, police said.

Police and SWAT team members set up a perimeter around the house, Crump said. The sister of the suspected gunman, who was hiding during the shooting, escaped once police arrived, Crump said. She was uninjured, police said.

All five shootings occurred before police arrived, Crump said.

Three of the victims were found downstairs. The other victim and the suspected gunman where found dead upstairs, police said.
