Feb. 08--Former Chicago singer and bassist Peter Cetera won't reunite with the band at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction in April, he announced Monday on his blog.
"Unfortunately, this scenario doesn't work for me. I know we all did our best to make it happen, but I guess it's just not meant to be," Cetera wrote. "Personally, I'm frustrated and tired of dealing with this and it's time to move on."
Cetera, who grew up on the South Side, appeared indecisive the last few months about whether he would join Chicago at the April 8 celebration in Brooklyn. Cetera left the band in 1985 to pursue a solo career.
The other 2016 Hall of Fame inductees are Cheap Trick, which hails from Rockford, Deep Purple, Steve Miller, N.W.A. and Bert Berns.
