Aug. 01--With Peter Bogdanovich's first feature film in more than a decade hitting theaters and VOD on Aug. 21, the American Cinematheque's Aero Theatre in Santa Monica is presenting a four-day retrospective on the Oscar-nominated writer-director. "The Old and New Hollywood of Peter Bogdanovich" opens Aug. 6 with the 1973 delight "Paper Moon," for which 10-year-old Tatum O'Neal won an Oscar, and the 1972 screwball comedy hit "What's Up, Doc?," with Barbra Streisand and Ryan O'Neal. He'll appear Aug. 7 for the screening of his 1971 masterpiece, "The Last Picture Show," and the director's cut of 1976's "Nickelodeon." The Aug. 8 offerings are the 1981 romantic comedy "They All Laughed" and the 1979 drama "Saint Jack." Bogdanovich returns Aug. 9 for a screening of his new film, "She's Funny That Way," as well as the new documentary "One Day Since Yesterday: Peter Bogdanovich and the Lost American Film."
