BRIEF: Person pulled from river on North Side

May 03--A person was hospitalized after he was pulled out of the North Branch of the Chicago River early Tuesday, authorities said.

Crews responded to the river near Ashland and Webster avenues about 5:30 a.m. and found the person in the water, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a police spokeswoman. His age was not immediately available.

Fire Department crews got him out of the water, and he was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in fair-to-serious condition.
